CCIU’s Ruzenski given IT award

The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) announced that Bryan Ruzenski, director of external technology services, was recently presented with the 2025 Operational Excellence Award at the Zscaler Public Sector Summit in Washington, D.C., on March 25, 2025.

The Zscaler Public Sector Summit is an annual conference focused on cybersecurity and cloud solutions for government agencies and public sector organizations. The Operational Excellence Award recognizes organizations that excel at leveraging cloud data solutions, accelerating Information Technology (IT) modernization, and improving operational efficiencies. Ruzenski was selected for this prestigious honor due to his innovative approach to cybersecurity challenges facing educational institutions across Pennsylvania.
“Bryan’s achievement speaks to his dedication to protecting our educational technology infrastructure,” said Dr. George F. Fiore, executive director of the CCIU. “His leadership in implementing advanced cybersecurity solutions demonstrates the CCIU’s commitment to safeguarding student data while creating secure learning environments across Chester County.”

During the award presentation, Zscaler highlighted how Ruzenski and his colleagues across Pennsylvania implemented a comprehensive solution that combines top security tools, including SentinelOne, Rubrik, Mimecast, and Zscaler. His work helps Pennsylvania school districts meet compliance requirements and keeps students safe by providing affordable, effective cyber protection at scale.
