ASTON—In what is quickly becoming a Unionville March madness tradition, the Indians (13-1-2) will play for the Flyers Cup championship this evening at Ice Line quad rinks in Aston at 8:45 pm.
Following a 10-0 drubbing of Avon Grove, Unionville advanced to the finals and will have a chance tonight to win it’s third title in a row as they face Lansdale Catholic (11-5-0) who advanced to the final by defeating West Chester East by a count of 6-0.
The Indians are riding the momentum of 15-game unbeaten streak, posting 13 wins in that stretch, while outscoring the opposition by an 84-14 edge for the entire season, the sole blemish on the record coming in a 5-4 loss to Haverford in the second game of the year back on October 27. In the two previous match ups this season with the Crusaders, Unionville was 2-0 claimed a 3-1 victory and finishing the regular season with a 4-0 blanking of L-C in which the Indians held 55-5 advantage in shots on net. Forecast- Unionville has too many offensive weapons to by denied their third consecutive Flyers Cup, as they win 5-1 to hoist the trophy.
