Obituaries: Kristine A. LeStourgeon

Kristine A. LeStourgeon

LANDENBERG – Kristine A. (Lingg) LeStourgeon, 58, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.  She was the beloved wife of Frederick “Chip” LeStourgeon, Jr.

Kristine was born July 2, 1966, in York and was the daughter of David Lingg, Jr. and Linda (Forry) Lingg.

She graduated from Central York High School and later Millersville University where she earned a BS in accounting.   She developed lifelong friends at college and would celebrate an annual Thanksgiving feast (Turkey Day) with them. After college, Kris began her career at Friedman Associates as an auditor.  She later moved to Graham Capital as a tax accountant.  At Graham she met her future husband on a blind date initiated by a mutual friend.  After an engagement, marriage, and a honeymoon to New Zealand, Kris relocated to Landenberg, PA and priorities shifted to building a family.  She worked briefly at Thorn EMI Records as a tax accountant but moved on from accounting to become a full time stay at home Mom with the birth of her first child.

As a full time Mom, Kris’s family was her pride and joy.  With a young family, Kris often volunteered as a teacher aide, participated in school bus trips, organized events, fundraisers and championed many activities.  As her family grew up, Kris took a part time job at a preschool, then later at the school cafeteria allowing her schedule to match the kids school schedules.  Kris wanted to be home every day when her kids got home from school.  With four active children, Kris encouraged her children’s academic, social and sporting activities.  She was often a full-time taxi service.  Whether it was basketball, baseball, softball, gymnastics or any other activity, Kris loved watching her kids activities and could be found as a spectator at almost every event.  Kris was also an avid walker, frequenting the local trails.

In addition to her husband and parents, Kris is the loving mother of Benjamin, Rebecca, Michelle, and Jonathan; her brothers, Mike Lingg (Tammy), Kevin Lingg, and cousins Dave Miller, Keith Miller, Jill (Forry) Schoener, Diane (Bear) Estep, Jen (Bear) Bonawitz, Greg Bear, and Kellie (Rode) Bly.  Kris was preceded in death by her cousin, Doug Forry.  Growing up Kris spent lots of time at the family egg business where she grew close with her cousins.  She considers her cousin Jill as a sister.

Her funeral service will begin at 2:30 PM, Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Quickel Lutheran Church, 60 Canal Road, York, PA.  Her viewing will be from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Saturday at the church.  Her burial will be in Quickel Cemetery.  Officiating at the service will be her pastor, Reverend Roy Stetler.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Project Purple supporting Pancreatic Cancer research and awareness.
