Snow blankets region; schools close

The first major snowfall of the season is hitting Chester County Monday, with schools and businesses closing around the county. Some residents may see as much 3 to 6 inches of total snowfall before the snow ends late Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

PennDOT has cut the speed limit on the region’s major highways to 45 MPH and conditions are reported be slippery in some locations.

Virtually every school district in the county is either closed or moved to online classes for Monday. Numerous businesses have already closed for the day.
