CareerLink to Host 2 Job Fairs in September

In recognition of National Workforce Development Month, PA CareerLink Chester County, in partnership with the Chester County Workforce Development Board, will hold CareerLink Awareness Day events in September. The Re-Entry Career & Resource Fair will be in Coatesville on September 10, and the Employer Panel & Career Fair will be in Kennett Square on September 11.

Butch Urban, Site Administrator for PA CareerLink Chester County, said, “September is Workforce Development Month, which highlights the importance of workforce development programs and events like the Re-entry Career & Resource Fair and the Employer Panel and Career Fair. Both are ideal opportunities for anyone in the job market or looking to make a career change to learn about job openings and meet with employers – plus, have their resumes reviewed and their headshots taken.

“In addition to these job fairs, PA CareerLink Chester County offers free resources such as classes and career coaching throughout the year.”

The Re-Entry Career & Resource Fair will be held on Tuesday, September 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Arches, 600 East Chestnut St., Coatesville. The event will feature at least 18 employers who are actively hiring and are sensitive to the needs of today’s job seekers. Among the employers in attendance will be Chester County’s Departments of Human Services and Children, Youth & Families, the Chester County OIC, Senior Helpers, Aramark, Philadelphia Technician Training Institute, and the Housing Authority of Chester County. All attendees will receive a $10 voucher to the Chester County Food Bank’s mobile markets. Registration is not required.

The Employer Panel & Career Fair is set for Wednesday, September 11, at the Kennett Library, 320 East State St., Kennett Square. An Employer Panel runs from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will discuss job searches and what employers are looking for in their next hire. Twenty-two employers will be at the Career Fair – which runs from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. – including Chester County’s Departments of Emergency Services and Children, Youth & Families, and Community Transit, Krapf School Bus, Phillips Mushroom Farms, Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, LCH Health and Community Services, and others. Registration is not required.
