Berlin, MD – Dave Hammond, 62, passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2023, in Berlin, MD. He was born on April 15, 1961, in Wilmington, DE, to Harry Hammond and the late Carol Parrett Hammond.

Dave is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Hammond, of MD, his father Harry Hammond and stepmother Sally Hammond of PA, his sister Diane Watson of CA, his brother Brian Hammond of PA, his sister Laura Hammond of PA, his stepson Ian Fisher of MD, his stepdaughter Allyson Fisher of FL, and many nieces and nephews. Dave lived every day to the fullest, always saying, “it’s a great day to be alive.” He had a zest for life and found joy in various hobbies.

An avid fisherman and boater, Dave spent countless hours fishing and capturing beautiful moments through his photography. Assateague was his favorite getaway, where he would find solace in the ocean. Dave’s latest passion was building fishing rods, showcasing his craftsmanship and attention to detail. He was also a hardworking and successful local Real Estate Agent who took pride in helping his clients find their vacation or forever homes.

Dave was deeply involved in his community and his church. He served as the Junior Warden on the Vestry at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where he was a devoted parishioner and cherished his church family. Dave attended Unionville High School and later pursued higher education at Widener University. He had a successful career as an Operating Partner at Chemserve Inc. from 2000 to 2023 and also worked as a Realtor from 2014 to 2023. Dave was a dedicated member of the Lions Club, actively contributing to the betterment of his community. A memorial service will be held on November 4, 2023, at 1:00pm at St. Paul’s Church in Berlin, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Ocean City Reef Foundation at https://www.ocreefs.org/donate, a cause that was close to Dave’s heart. Dave Hammond will be remembered for his zest for life, his love for the ocean, and his dedication to his family, community, and church. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
