Downingtown Area School District students raise more than $5K for Autism Research

Philadelphia Eagles Mascot, Swoop, Eagles Cheerleaders, Miss Pennsylvania, representatives from the Eagles Autism Foundation, and DASD DEI Director Justin Brown lead an assembly for Uwchlan Hills Elementary School students in honor of their Autism Acceptance Month Elementary Coin Challenge win.

Uwchlan Hills Elementary School and Beaver Creek Elementary School were named the winning team in the second annual Downingtown Area School District (DASD) Elementary Coin Challenge for the Eagles Autism Foundation, earning both schools a visit from Philadelphia Eagles mascot Swoop, the Eagles cheerleaders, and Miss Pennsylvania. The guests took part in schoolwide assemblies to honor the students’ fundraising on April 28.

DASD’s 10 elementary schools were divided into teams of two and competed to see which pair could raise the most funds through coin collections. The Uwchlan Hills-Beaver Creek team raised $1,772.61. The total amount raised by all schools for the Eagles Autism Foundation was $5,922.23.
