ABINGTON — The three Southern Chester County Soccer Association teams competing in the Jack Walsh Soccer Tournament won first place for their age groups. The Under-12, Under-13 and Under-15 all posted impressive wins — with the Under-15 team defending its 2010 title.
U12 Green Hornets Update:
Adding to the success, the U12 Green Hornets ’99 took home first place in the top U12 Division at the Jack Walsh Tournament in Abington, PA over Columbus Day weekend. Hornets played 4 games over the weekend and outscored the competition 14 goals to 1.
U13 Green Hornets Update:
Over Columbus Day weekend, the SCCSA Green Hornets ’98 (U13 Girls) won the Silver Division Championship at the Hunter Jack Walsh Soccer Tournament. The Green Hornets capped off a perfect weekend by winning the championship game 3-0 on Sunday over the Hunter Roos. The Green Hornets scored 19 goals this weekend with 8 different players contributing to the scoring, while also completely shutting down their opponents and recording shutouts in all four of their games. Congratulations on a dominating performance!
U15 Lightning Update:
SCCSA U15 Girls (Team Lightning) win again at the 20th Annual Hunter Jack Walsh Tournament in Abington, PA over the Columbus Day weekend. The Lightning defended their 2010 title with an impressive weekend of soccer. With a final record of 4 wins, 0 losses, 0 ties, the team took home the 2011 trophy. After falling behind 2-0 in the second half of the championship game, the team struck quickly to take a 3-2 lead and then held off a late flurry to win the tournaments U15 Gold Division.
