Boy Scout bring Christmas spirit to VA grounds

Ned Glavin, junior at Westtown School, life scout, and Senior Patrol Leader for Troop 22, chartered out of Unionville Presbyterian Church, chose to serve veterans selecting his Eagle Scout project.

Driven by his desire to help veterans, to honor his late grandfathers who were both Korean War Veterans, Ned reached out to the director of Voluntary Services, Mrs. Jennifer Lilly, at the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Hospital for his Eagle Scout project. Ned and Mrs. Lilly decided on a large display to be visible, not only to the veterans residing in the nursing facility or the hospice center, but also from Route 340.

The display features the words “PEACE” and “JOY” which stand 6 ½ feet tall along with four 8 feet tall 3D trees. LED lights brighten the display at night for all to see.

If your journey takes you near the Coatesville VA, please enjoy the ‘peace’ and ‘joy’ this holiday season brings by witnessing the beautiful display.
