Jacquelyn Adele Dixon Winslow

Jacquelyn Adele Dixon Winslow, age 100, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2020 at Jenner’s Pond Retirement Community. Born in Savannah, GA, Jacquelyn was the daughter of the late Ruth Adele (Milliken) and John Dixon. She later moved to Cornish Maine and Boston.  Jackie earned her RN in 1941 from  Wilson Memorial Hospital and went on to practice nursing at IBM as a visiting nurse.  It was here that she met her husband, Howard William “Don” Winslow.  After many moves they settled in Kennett Square, PA.

Jackie was an accomplished needle artist whose love was crewel work. She was honored to have one of her screens displayed at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. She was a former member of the Junior Board Wilmington, DE and the Kennett Square garden club.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jacquelyn is predeceased by her daughter, Louise Yeatman.  She is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Kathleen and James Gardner of Wilmington, DE and Malinda and Roland Harris of Bonita Springs, FL; her grandchildren, Michon Horton, Wayne Yeatman, Andrew, Christopher and Jacquelyn Moore, Roland and Tiffany Harris, and Royce Davenport; nineteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at 3:30pm with a memorial service beginning at 4pm on Friday September 4th, 2020 at the Mealey Funeral Homes, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be held in Riverside Cemetery in Cornish, Maine.
