Rodeo new feature at Unionville Fair

Willowdale Pro Rodeo just one of many fun events for 87th Fair

The Willowdale Pro Rodeo is the biggest new event planned for the 2011 Unionville Fair.

After reaching the ripe old age of 87, most would be challenged to find something new and exciting; something to stimulate the senses and get those old juices flowing. But year after year, the organizers of the Unionville Community Fair and Farm Show make it appear easy as they continue to introduce new attractions to delight the young, the old and everyone in-between.

How about a rip roaring, bronco riding, barrel racing RODEO? Catch the Willowdale Pro Rodeo on Saturday, October 1st, from 6-9pm.

The performing arts group, Drum the Bucket, will be there on Friday, September 30th, 9:15am-2:15pm and Saturday, October 1st, 11am-3pm at various locations throughout the fair.

Acclaimed storyteller and author Robin Moore, known for writing the Bread Sisters of Sinking Creek series, will be visiting and reading stories to students during field trips on Friday, September 30th and can be found in the Storytelling tent, Saturday and Sunday, October 1st and 2nd from 12-3.

For the health conscious, come and take a Zumba Fitness class with Melanie Wells on Saturday morning at 9am.

Also appearing is professional Juggler Josh Horton, Magician Matt Cadabra, the Blue Sky Band and fair favorites Dan and Galla. Dan and Galla will host the annual family dance in the dining tent on Friday, September 30th, from 7-9pm.

In addition, there will be gardening seminars by Southern Chester County Conservancy, flower arranging with Longwood Gardens, cooking and sewing demos, antique tractor displays and much, much more.

Hosted by Landhope Farms, the fair runs from Friday, September 29th until Sunday, October 2nd; visit www.ucfairinc.org for ticket information and to view a complete schedule of events.
