Kennett truly is a staycation destination

Who else is excited that the un-official start of Summer 2017 is HERE?!

You can be sure that I have my arm raised. I think we live in the coolest town (EVER)…especially when the weather cooperates and we can spend time outside. There are so many fun things to do in our little slice of Chester County.

The Creamery of Kennett Square is a 30,000 square foot industrial-chic space located at 401 Birch Street. This family friendly hot spot is the ultimate place to play lawn games, listen to live music, sample 16 taps of craft beer (if you are of age, of course) and indulge in different food truck goodies.

This year, artist Robert Jackson will be on-site to create a custom mural on Thursday evenings (5-7pm) throughout the month of June. Come watch the transformation unfold as you relax with your fellow neighbors. Don’t miss music TONIGHT by Marlboro Road! Check out the website for the latest updates here http://kennettcreamery.com/ After this debut weekend, The Creamery will be open Thursday through Sunday until the end of September.

If you are looking for a little retail therapy, Kennett WorKS, located at 432 S. Walnut Street, is described as a “curated group of high-end purveyors of artisan, designer, handcrafted, vintage, and one-of-a-kind goods for the home, person, and the connoisseur.”

They have a ton of events and workshops scheduled for this season. The first is the Summer Kickoff Party on Friday, June 6th from 5-7:30pm with live music from Couple Days and catering by Sovana Bistro. The next in line in the series of service projects dubbed “WorKS in the Community” is entitled the “Dog Days of Summer” which will be a fundraiser for the Brandywine Valley SPCA featuring pet photo portraits by Beth Erisman Photography. Stay tuned for details!

You can click here http://www.workskennettsquare.com/ for a list of WorKS vendors and a gallery of really cool (and inspiring) pictures.

Kennett Square is the perfect staycation destination! Grab the kids, call some friends and make it a weekend to remember.

Happy Memorial Day!
