Happy Thanksgiving!

happythanksgivingFrom all of us at The Times, we wish you a very happy and peaceful Thanksgiving Day.

While we all have many things to be thankful for, we are particularly thankful for the loyalty of our readers, who stuck with us through rough times late last year and then, amazingly, helped us grow even more this year, even as we continued to navigate challenges, both in terms of the overall media world and in some cases, our own personal lives.

Of course, we are thankful to the many advertisers who support this venture and allow us to be one of the few outposts on the Internet without flashy, annoying ads or fake news on our front page. And because of them, we’ve been able to provide you local news for free. That’s no small task these days.

As we wind down 2016, we’re hopeful for 2017 and continue to look for new team members to help us cover your home towns. If you, someone you know is looking for part-time writing work, contact our editor, Mike McGann at mike@chescotimes.com.

Lastly, as hard as it might be, let’s focus on the things that bring us together this Thanksgiving. For a day, hopefully, we can skip talk about politics and other divisive topics and remember why we value friends and family.

Again, it is you — our readers — that make us so thankful.

Have a great day, stay off the Internet, enjoy great food, friends and family and stay safe.

Happy Thanksgiving.
