WEST CHESTER — The newly reelected Chester County Commissioners opted not to mess with what has been a good working combination, reelecting Republican Commissioner Terence Farrell as Chair and Democrat Kathi Cozzone as Vice Chair during Monday’s Board of Commissioners organizational meeting. Commissioner Farrell has served as Commissioners’ Chair in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2015.
Commissioner Cozzone nominated Commissioner Farrell as Chairman, and Commissioner Michelle Kichline nominated Commissioner Cozzone as Vice Chair. The votes of the three-member board were unanimous.
“I thank my colleagues for their confidence in my leadership as chairman of the board, and I look forward to serving with them as we continue to provide excellent programs and services for the citizens of Chester County,” Farrell said.
The three commissioners seemed committed to keeping a good working combination for the people of Chester County.
“This Board has worked hard over the past year to ensure our residents remain safe and receive the services they need and deserve – particularly with regard to programs that were affected by the State budget impasse,” Cozzone said. “I look forward to continuing to work with them as vice-chair of the board.
With Kichline having won her own term in office, after being appointed to replace Ryan Costello, elected to Congress in 2014, she said she looks forward to continuing the steady leadership he county has seen in recent years.
“It has been my pleasure to serve alongside Terence and Kathi for more than a year, and I know that throughout 2016 we will continue to focus on the best interests of our 500,000-plus residents by furthering the programs and services that help us achieve our strategic and economic development goals,” Kichline said.
