EAST MARLBOROUGH — Spring is coming and excitement is building for patrons and fans of The Willowdale Steeplechase, one of Chester County’s most significant community events.
Whether you’re a horse enthusiast or just like to have a fun and beautiful day in the country, it’s time to make plans for the 23rd running of the races! In spite of the harsh weather, steeplechase horses have been in training and the spring race season kicks off in South Carolina this month.
Tickets and parking spaces for The Willowdale Steeplechase’s May 10th annual Mother’s Day event are on sale now.
Reserved patron tailgate parking admission packages are available, and now is the best time to make selections. Member’s Hill offers premiere viewing of the finish line and 4 admission tickets for $450. The Water Jump West parking section includes 4 admission tickets and offers excellent viewing of Willowdale’s signature Water Jump for $375. The Turn parking includes 4 tickets for $250 and is centrally located with spectacular views of the home stretch and the paddock area. The Field parking includes 4 tickets at $175 and provides great tailgating with a panoramic view of the racecourse from its location high on the hillside. The Willowdale Steeplechase is truly “the race with a view” – the amphitheatre style layout of Willowdale allows for 90% percent viewing of the race course from all parking areas.
General Admission tickets are also on sale now at $25.00 in advance or $30.00 per person on race day. Parking in the General Admission parking lot is free and children under 12 are always free. A course map is also located on the Willowdale website showing the location of the parking sections, food court, Kid’s Alley, Jack Russell Terrier Races, Antique Cars and the many other entertainment options for the day.
