Penn St. offer small farm management course

Penn State Cooperative Extension in Chester County will be offering a course on managing your own small farm business. Exploring the Small Farm Dream is a four-session course developed by the New England Small Farm Institute.

The course is not designed to teach participants how to work the land or care for animals, but rather covers the planning steps and considerations that are critical to business success.

Exploring the Small Farm Dream is applicable to almost any agricultural enterprise, whether growing fruits and vegetables for a farm market or starting a dairy with goat’s milk products.

Weekly evening sessions will be held from March 28 to April 18 at the Romano 4-H Center on Route 322 near Honey Brook.

For more information and registration materials, please contact Keith Dickinson or Cheryl Fairbairn, Penn State Cooperative Extension Educators, at 610-696-3500, or look online under the “Agriculture” section of the Chester County Cooperative Extension webpage: http://chester.extension.psu.edu/ .
