Unionville & Kennett host breakfast, June 7

PancakesEAST MARLBOROUGH — One again the administrations of the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District and Kennett Consolidated School District will team up for a free community breakfast, Saturday, June 7 at Unionville High School.

The event will be held in the Unionville High School Cafeteria and coincides with the Kennett/Unionville Relay for Life fundraiser.

“Two School Districts – One Community” is a theme that the superintendents from both school districts often emphasize.  The two superintendents have come together over the years to turn the breakfast into a featured annual event that brings the community together in common cause.  This annual neighborhood event is a free event and is paid for by donations and administrators of the two school districts.

As in past years, district administrators will be on hand to cook and serve.  Superintendents Barry Tomasetti of Kennett and John Sanville of Unionville will be the “Top Chefs”  for the event, with support by administrators and teachers from both school districts.

Although often rivals on the sports field, but close neighbors with many community connections, Unionville and Kennett will join together as one as part of the Relay for Life fundraiser, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for cancer over the past several years.  The “Team of Rivals” assembled by the superintendents will then break bread together and serve the community a healthy and hearty breakfast.
