Organizers express thanks to patrons, participants, volunteers who make it possible
Organizers of the 65th Annual Chadds Ford Art Sale & Show want to thank everyone who made the popular event another huge success.
On March 21 and March 22, more than 900 people attended the show and sale, helping to raise more than $66,000. “We are always so happy with the support we receive from the community, and it would not be possible without the support we receive from the parents, the school, and the entire district,” a news release said.
The organizers said they were also grateful for the work of the participating artists and their willingness to interact with patrons at the show.
Approximately 30 percent of the $66,000 will go the Chadds Ford Elementary’s PTO after expenses – such as mailings, printing, publicity, security and other costs – are paid. “This is our main fund-raiser and will help to support many educational opportunities for all of our children,” the release said.
This year’s sale included a presentation by Victoria Wyeth, the granddaughter of Andrew and Betsy Wyeth, who provided insight into her talented family’s art and private collection. The Chadds Ford Art Sale & Show was founded by Betsy Wyeth in 1949 and continues to be a valuable fund-raiser for the elementary school.
The show’s featured artist for 2014 was the nationally known American realist painter, J. Wayne Bystrom, who resides in Kennett Square. The 2014 donating artist is was Shawn Faust, an award- winning Brandywine Valley artist from Bear, De.
