Regional projects include utility installation, vegetation removal
Area roadwork has been scheduled this week, said an announcement on Friday, Dec. 27, from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). PennDOT wants motorists to be mindful of possible delays.
Utility installation on U.S. 1 in Concord Township will result in lane closures between Brinton Lake Road and Rt. 322 through Jan. 17. The work will be done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Utility installation will also continue to delay traffic with lane restrictions on West Baltimore Pike in New Garden Township in Monday, Dec. 30, and Tuesday, Dec. 31, between Bancroft and Chambers Roads from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Crews are scheduled for brush-cutting on Monday, Dec. 30, and Tuesday, Dec. 31, Thursday, Jan. 2 and Friday, Jan. 3, on Birmingham Road in Birmingham Township between Rt. 926 and Brintons Bridge Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Intermittent lane restrictions are expected.
Brush-cutting will also result in intermittent lane closures on Rt. 842 in both directions in East and West Marlborough, Newlin, and Pocopson Townships. The work will be performed Monday, Dec. 30, and Tuesday, Dec. 31, as well as Thursday, Jan. 2, and Friday, Jan. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Newark Road and Brandywine Creek Road.
Vegetation removal will affect southbound U.S. 1 in Kennett Township with intermittent lane closures between Parkersville Road and Rt. 52 on Monday, Dec. 30, Tuesday, Dec. 31, Thursday, Jan. 2, and Friday, Jan. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
