EAST MARLBOROUGH — Willowdale Steeplechase Board chairman Dixon Stroud announced Thursday that the crew putting on the 2014 race would have new leadership.
Katy Donovan is the new race director, Lisa Hatcher Coggins is the associate race director and Mini Young is assisting in the office and on race day. Laurie Prysock, former director, is now the Co-Chair of the Publicity Committee.
Donovan is well known in the community, especially for her involvement in education. She held the positions of President of the Elementary, Middle and High School and Unionville Chadds Ford School District Parent Teachers Organization Council. Donovan is also Vice President of the Chester County Skating Club, having served as President in the past.
Stroud also announced that renowned artist Sarah Lamb Larned and former steeplechase jockey Jacob Chalfin were elected to the Board of Directors of the Willowdale Steeplechase.
The 22rd running of The Willowdale Steeplechase will take place on Sunday, May 11, 2014.
The Willowdale Steeplechase benefits the Stroud Water Research Center, the New Bolton Center of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine and Quest Therapeutic Services.
