Patching scheduled for U.S. 1 in both directions

Work expected to require daytime lane restrictions

IMG_0948The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has scheduled road maintenance in the area this week and wants to warn drivers about possible delays.

U.S. 1 in both directions will require lane restrictions Monday through Thursday between the Maryland state line and the Brandywine Creek for patching. The work, expected to affect motorists in New Garden, Kennett, East Marlborough and Pennsbury Townships, will be done from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Slow-moving line-painting trucks will be working this week Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Birmingham Township. Motorists are advised to remain an ample distance behind the trucks and stay off of the traffic lines.

Utility installation will necessitate lane restrictions on Newark Road between Gap Newport Pike and New Garden Road in New Garden Township. The work will be done from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, through Monday, Nov. 11.
