Restaurant hosting special Happy Hour to encourage participation
The Chester County Historical Society (CCHS) – recently recognized as owning one of Pennsylvania’s Top 10 Endangered Artifacts – is looking for help to raise awareness and garner votes for Passmore Williamson’s Prison Visitors’ Book.
The deteriorating treasure that documents an incredible tale of courage is part of an innovative, six-week, online statewide campaign to save Pennsylvania’s Top 10 Endangered Artifacts. CCHS is seeking votes and donations to help preserve this item and gain significant recognition for this effort and CCHS’s mission.
To augment that effort, Doc Magrogan’s Oyser House is hosting a “Happy Hour Click-A-Thon for CCHS” from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29. Doc Magrogan’s is even offering a special Click-A-Thon Menu to make the experience more fun: $3 for craft beer; $4, house wine; $5, specialty cocktail; $5, Orange Sesame Shrimp; $5 calamari; and $1 buck-a-shuck.
Those who come for an hour or stay for all five will receive a free CCHS membership or a general admission ticket for the 2014 Antiques Show. Bring your laptop, iPad, or cell phone and click as many times as possible while enjoying good food and conversation.
The Historical Society hopes you will visit the website – www.PATop10Artifacts.org/visitors-book – consider donating if you are able, and vote at home or during the Click-A-Thon. There is no limit to how many times an individual can vote between now and the deadline, which is Nov. 1.
Doc Magrogan’s Oyster House is located at 117 E. Gay St., West Chester, 19380. For more information, visit www.docmagrogans.com/westchester/.
