EXTON – The Chester County Library and District Center will hold a New Coaches Training Session for Jr. FIRST* Lego League (FLL) and FLL on Thursday, August 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Struble Room.

Anyone interested in being a Jr. FLL or FLL coach in the upcoming season is invited to attend the training session. The training will cover the basics of what you need to know to be an FLL coach. You will learn how to build and program a LEGO NXT robot, how to guide your students through the project and how to best manage your time during the season.

If you have no technical background, don’t be nervous. The team members are the ones who do the work. You only need to ask the questions and watch them go. Attend this session to learn how to get involved in the FIRST Robotics Teams and Programs and show children that science, technology, and problem solving are not only fun, but are proven paths to successful careers and a bright future for all.

JR. FLL is for children ages 6 to 9, or kindergarden through third grade, and FLL is for kids between the ages of 9 and 14 years.

Registration is required.  Please visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/chestercountylibrary/events or e-mail us at asuveg@ccls.org.

*FIRST stands for “For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.”
