The Social Lounge in West Chester will be the venue on Tuesday for the latest installment of the Chester County Historical Society’s “History on Tap” program, which will feature a repeat performance by The Dill Pickle Old Time Orchestra.

Buoyed by popular demand, the Chester County Historical Society (CCHS) is returning The Dill Pickle Old Time Orchestra to The Social Lounge in downtown West Chester on Tuesday for “History on Tap,” an ongoing program that combines insight into the past within the casual atmosphere of local bars or restaurants.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., the Pickle string band will play its signature American fiddle tunes, gospel, Tin Pan Alley, and mountain songs from eras gone by. They will also mix in some rediscovered tunes from early American sheet music in the library of the Chester County Historical Society, with a few history lessons mixed in by mandolin player and West Chester University history professor Charles Hardy.

The program – sponsored by Susquehanna Bank, WCHE 1520AM, and in partnership with the 1893s (Chester County Historical Society Young Friends Association) – is free. Food and beverages will be  available for purchase.

The Social Lounge is located at 29 E. Gay St., West Chester, 19382.
