Unionville High to host 15th annual ‘Jazz Along the Brandywine’
Hot music and cool improvisation will combine to warm up the crowd as Unionville High School hosts the 15th annual “Jazz Along the Brandywine” festival on Friday, April 5.
Starting at 6 p.m., top area bands will demonstrate their finesse with a variety of styles, ranging from soul to swing to samba.
“It’s a fun evening for the audience,” says G. Scott Litzenberg, director of Unionville High School’s jazz band. “Some amazingly talented kids will be performing. It’s always exciting to hear the improv solos they come up with.”
This year’s participants are Charles F. Patton Middle School and the following high schools: Radnor, Lower Merion, Upper Darby, Methacton, Rustin, Ridley, Marple Newtown, West Chester East, Souderton, and Springfield (Montco). The evening concludes with an exhibition performance by the Unionville High School Jazz Band, followed by an awards ceremony.
