EAST MARLBOROUGH —  The Unionville High School girls basketball team defeated Octorara 53-39, Wednesday night, using a balanced offensive attack — five players scored eight or more points in the game — to coast to a fairly drama-free win.

Freshman Alison Lewis and junior Corrinne Blue — making her first start for a short-handed Indians’ squad — both contributed 13 points for the Indians.  Sydney Hughes added 8 points, Susie Pancoast and Cami Redfern had 8 points apiece.  Pancoast also pulled down 13 rebounds and had 5 assists.   Redfern nailed 2 three point shots.

Due to an illness, Blue was called on to start her first varsity game and came through with a solid effort for the Indians. The team led  44-22 heading into the fourth quarter.

Unionville improved its overall record to 7-4 and 3-2 in Ches-Mont American Division play.  The team travels to Avon Grove on Saturday afternoon.
