Land Conservancy plans winter programs

EAST MARLBOROUGH — The Land Conservancy of Southern Chester County plans a number of informational nature symposiums at its Bucktoe Creek Preserve in Avondale.

1. Winter Tree Identification at Bucktoe Creek Preserve, 432 Sharp Road, Avondale PA
Sunday, January 13 from 10am-12pm The cost is $10 for non-members; $5 for members (type member when asked for a promotion code)

Join TLC at Bucktoe Creek Preserve for a winter tree identification hike and learn ways to identify common Pennsylvania trees without the help of their leaves.  Light refreshments will be provided.  Dress appropriately for the cold weather.

2. Wildlife in Winter Series
Part 1: Hibernation
Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 10am-12pm
Part II: Camouflage
Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 10am – 12pm
Part III: Migration
Saturday, March 9th 2013 from 10am – 12pm

3. Full Moon Owl Prowl
Monday, February 25th 2013 from 6:00pm- 7:30pm

Bundle up for a moonlight adventure searching and calling for owls at the Bucktoe Creek Preserve. Hike through meadows and woodlands by the light of the full moon. Hike is moderate in difficulty and suitable for adults and children. Cost: $5 for TLC members; $10 for non-members. Please register at www.tlcforscc.org or call 610-347-0347.
