Candy, snacks sought for 4th Annual Trick or Treat for Troops

Here’s an opportunity to sink your teeth into – but just figuratively. The Brandywine Smile Center is sponsoring the 4th Annual Trick or Treat for Troops.

Each year, the dental practice, located at 736 Baltimore Pike in Glen Mills,  collects leftover Halloween candy and sends it in care packages to Pennsylvania soldiers stationed away from home. To date, over 400 pounds of sweets have been shipped to troops in time for Thanksgiving.

This year, the center’s staff hopes to break the 500-pound mark. So if Hurricane Sandy decreased the number of goblins who visited your home, you can make good use of the surplus. Donations of individually wrapped candy or snacks will be collected until Nov. 7.

For those whose travels won’t take them to Glen Mills, the Unionville High School marching band will also have a collection site. Candy can be dropped off in the box in the band room until 2:30 p.m on Nov. 7.
