Chester County SPCA touts ‘Summer of Love’

A groovy discount will enable residents to adopt a pet cat, dog, hamster, even an iguana

Thelma the beagle is one of the Chester County SPCA animals looking for a good home.

The Chester County SPCA thinks it would be groovy if county residents would consider giving homes to some of its animals.

To encourage adoption, the independent nonprofit agency is featuring a Summer of Love special this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. An adoption discount of $19.67, hearkening back to the days of peace and love for all – including four-legged friends – is being offered.

For cats and dogs, the fee includes spaying or neutering, an identifying microchip, a starter bag of Science Diet food, a free vet visit with one of over 60 participating practices, and unconditional love for life.

To prepare for your visit, the agency has compiled tips on its web site at http://www.ccspca.org. In addition, some of the available pets are featured, information that is subject to change. So if you see a pitbull terrier, a domestic short-haired cat or an iguana that strikes your fancy, it’s best to act quickly.
